# General Use

This is information to be referenced before battery use and during use.

**Before each use, check the following:**

* Check for damage to the battery. If any damage is present, do not use the battery.
* Ensure the battery is secured correctly to the vehicle and connections are tight.
* Ensure the battery is adequately charged prior to use.

**General use guidelines**

* The battery will generate heat during use. Never allow the pack temperature to rise above 60°C during discharge as cell damage or fire may occur. Warm ambient temperatures, high initial pack temperatures, and heavy loads will generally lead to higher pack temperatures during use.
* In case of cold ambient or initial pack temperatures, prewarm before use. The discharge of batteries below -20°C will result in a permanent reduction in battery capacity.
* Do not charge the battery if the pack temperature is over 65°C or below 10°C.
* Monitor state of charge and cell voltages while in flight. Pay close attention to cell voltages when the state of charge is below 10%. When below 10% state of charge, cell voltages drop more rapidly.
* Never allow a cell to drop below 3.0V or permanent damage to the cell will occur.
* It is dangerous to draw more power than what the battery pack is rated for. This could cause permanent damage to the pack and vehicle.
