# Discharging

This section provides information and safety precautions on battery discharge. The battery will never prevent itself from being discharged. The following instructions are a guideline to prevent damage to the battery.

* Do not allow any cell to get to or below 3V. Monitor closely when at a lower state of charge as voltages drop more rapidly in this state.
* Do not discharge the battery when it is outside the safe discharging temperature range.
* Do not exceed the max discharge current rating of the battery.
* Avoid deep discharge. Even one over discharge will lead to permanent damage.
