# Add Battery
Adding batteries is only done via the Inventory Page. If you need to edit batteries that would be done here using the Quick View tabs once you locate it. When adding batteries it is a simple process as shown below:
* When adding a new battery one can do so in two locations. Both are located on the “Battery Inventory” screen with one being in the top right of the screen and the other being center right in the Quick View bar. You will receive the same popup regardless of which button you press to add a battery.
* The first thing to do is to add your unique serial number on the battery, if you are already using that serial number then you won’t be able to add the battery. Next is to select one of your selected battery models you’ve created prior. The number of charge cycles is your best guess or you can input zero in order to start tracking that stat now for that battery.
* Date of service is just when the battery will first be able to be serviced at the company, so if you put this date a month in the future you won’t be able to schedule operations using this battery and would need other batteries in order to schedule that operation using the calendar feature in the Asset Tracker.
* The last two inputs are simply the owner of the batteries (who is responsible for them) and the location they most often reside at.
