# Export and Import

If you wish you can export specific views on your Battery Quick View. This helps with hard copy records as well as having a rolling inventory that may need to be checked for past inventories to verify past numbers to current numbers. If you want to export or import follow these instructions:

* Click the export button and choose which type of export file you’d like between the options given (you can select more than one or all). Then click the download button.
* Using the layout of the CSV or XLSX file type you can import your own inventory sheets if wanted. The only thing to keep in mind is that if a serial number matches any currently used serial number in the Asset Tracker the upload will fail. As well if there is no serial number attached to a specific battery then it will have one assigned to it automatically.
